Emma Bledsoe is super tough and determined when wearing her goalie gear and keeping the opposing team from scoring.
The senior field hockey goalie, though, has many other sides and interests. A participant in seven clubs or activities, Bledsoe is obviously very busy.
Bledsoe still found time to serve as 2025 homecoming queen, a title she was honored to hold.
“It was amazing to be named homecoming queen,” she said. “I am so grateful for my friends’ support and everyone who voted for me.”
The list of clubs and sports Bledsoe is involved in is impressive. She’s involved in GSA, French club, field hockey, lacrosse, winter track, peer leadership club and Key Club.
Next fall, Bledsoe plans on attending a fashion school in New York. She’ll major in advertising and marketing communications in hopes of becoming a creative director.
“I chose this because I love everything art related and I would love to continue and pursue that passion in my occupation,” Bledsoe said.
Bledsoe is currently enjoying her success in field hockey. She has 122 saves in 16 games for the Bombers, who are 9-6-1. She had a season-high 14 saves versus Madison on Sept. 11 and 13 in a 2-1 victory over Mount Olive on Sept. 24. Bledsoe has five other games with saves in double figures.
“Emma is a dynamic person with an amazing personality,” BHS field hockey coach Cindy Tserkis Schlitt said. “Her humor brings calm when the team is being challenged, and her dedication and selflessness are impressive, making her a fantastic role model for the underclassmen.
“She is a phenomenal goalkeeper who has been key in keeping the team in many competitive games. She has no idea how good she really is, and I am incredibly proud of the athlete and person she has become.”
