Halloween is the spookiest night of the year and to get in the spirit, one movie I recommend each of you to watch this season is Oculus. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. It creates an unforgettable eerie feeling that will be sure to follow you to your dreams. This movie will captivate your attention at each unexpected moment.
Oculus is a horror/ psychological thriller that starts off by giving us background knowledge on a family that moves into a new house. They purchase new furniture, along with this very elegant sleek black mirror that finishes off the look of their house. This mirror, we later find out, is evil and slowly begins to extend itself through the house, dominating and controlling the family through illusion. Years later, the kids who had been haunted by this mirror, eventually losing their parents to it, decide to come back and attempt to get their revenge.
This movie, made in 2013, had me thrilled and scared. It is an older movie, but that is its charm. Oculus is a cleverly plotted movie slowly portraying abuse and I recommend everyone to go grab some popcorn and halloween candy and watch it for a thrill!
