Almost Monday, an indie pop trio from San Diego, Calif., has been making waves with infectious, feel-good sounds and high-energy performances.

The band consists of lead singer Dawson Daugherty, guitarist Cole Clisby, and bassist Luke Fabry. The trio formed the group in high school, bonding over their shared passions for music and surfing. They initially considered the name The Mondays but it was already taken and settled on Almost Monday, symbolizing the fresh start of a new week. Their music blends indie pop, rock, and funk, drawing influences from artists like David Bowie and Prince.

The band’s journey began in 2019 with their debut single, “Broken People,” which garnered attention for catchy melodies and upbeat vibes. They followed up with the 2020 EP “Don’t Say You’re Ordinary,” showcasing their knack for crafting memorable, danceable tracks. In 2024, they released their debut album, “DIVE”, featuring the lead single “can’t slow down,” which became a significant hit. The album’s blend of funky grooves and indie pop hooks resonated with audiences, making it a favorite on streaming platforms.

Known for their electrifying live shows, Almost Monday has built a loyal fanbase over the past few years. They’ve toured with bands like Joywave and The Driver Era, and, in 2024, they had the opportunity to open for AJR. Their “DIVE” Tour began in Seoul, South Korea, before expanding to the United States and Europe, earning them new fans worldwide. Almost Monday will be giving concerts in the U.S. through Feb. 22, 2025. The band will kick off the European portion of its tour in Madrid on March 1.

Their energy onstage is as infectious as their music, making their concerts a must-see experience.

Recently, the band released a deluxe version of “DIVE,” featuring additional tracks that gave fans even more to enjoy. Almost Monday’s continued rise in popularity shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. With their mix of catchy tunes, electrifying live shows, and a growing fanbase, they’re well on their way to becoming one of indie pop’s breakout acts.

“DIVE,” according to Daugherty, is “a snapshot of us as individuals and as a collective.”

“We take Polaroids of the crowd at every show,” he said in a press release. “We wanted the album to feel like one of those Polaroids where you capture the moment. It might be blurry, but it’s that snapshot in time of who we are and what we like.”

For those interested in catching them live, Almost Monday’s “DIVE” Tour includes upcoming dates in the United States and Europe. Their dynamic performances are not to be missed.

Almost Monday’s discography includes singles like “jupiter (Remix),” “she likes sports,” “tidal wave,” “can’t slow down,” and “is it too late?” Their music is available on various streaming platforms, allowing fans to enjoy their upbeat tracks anytime.

As they continue to evolve and reach new heights, Almost Monday remains a band to watch in the indie pop scene.
